their original, clever presentations. My talent was the DVD. I played that as a finale for the session, drawing together photos I'd taken across the two weeks. It's fun to set pictures to music. It's as much fun to watch the kids as they look at themselves on screen. Makes camp worth it to realize the joy in those faces.
The DVD was not the grand finale however, there were fireworks across the lake, shades of color that lit up the sky. With each explosion of red, yellow, green and blue, the kids cheered and

celebrated their Dr. Seuss session of fun and friends. On Saturday the horse show came together well.Parents visited, hugged, applauded, and chatted about their children. It was good to see everyone. Here is Amy our nurse and her son Josh greeting families. Both are good friends to the kids and very special people.
At the show, I love hearing my campers share their stories about the two weeks. They have a way of infusing their story with genuine funny enthusiasm. I move around and listen. I smile and know camp is so worth it.

There were surprises in the horse show. Riders who previously lacked confidence rode with a belief in themselves and their horse that was amazing. We all realized it wasn't about the ribbons.
For riders, it was about knowing they could do well as long as they were a partner with their horse. For parents, it was holding their breath and then sharing amazement that their children had made such progress in their riding and horse management skills.
Sprucelands buzzed with Seussical chatter all day Saturday. It was a particularly happy time when we returned to the Village Pub in Strykersville. It reopened right before camp. The atmosphere and the food was wonderful again. So happy to be reconnecting with past memories of good friends parting. The Pub somehow gives us a closure that we love.
