The weather this fall was picture perfect. None of us complained even one little bit. It was warmer longer than we expected it to be warm. The leaves changed to glorious colors, and the rain came midweek which saved us all from plunking around in sloppy mud on weekends.I was impressed that October gave us temperatures where we could be in shirt sleeves. That's a fall surprise for us here at camp. Oh sure, some mornings were 30 degrees when we fed, but mid-day brought sunshine and a warmth that was perfect.
By the way, clinics are falling into place for next spring. It looks like we will have a clinic helper training weekend in late February or early March. So if you are interested in becoming a clinic helper, join us. In fact, send Eileen an email (spruceland@gmail.com) and she'll add you to her clinic helper list. That way you'll be included in the early training.Clinic helpers learn to teach, supervise, enforce safety rules, make friends easily, and at the same time, develop their own horse skills. There is information on the website about the clinic helper program if you are truly eager to know more. You can look at what qualities are needed as a clinic helper by going to www.sprucelands.com/clinic_helper_qualities.html. At the top of that page, you'll see there are other pages that tell you more about the program itself.
Of course, if you are a scout leader interested in booking a weekend clinic, get on the calendar by calling Alison at 585 768 8427. We anticipate another terrific year in 2009!
